No interest loans for essential purchases
WA NILS provide no interest loans for up to $1500 to people on low incomes for essential purchases like white goods for their home, educational expenses like laptop computers or school camps, car repairs or dental work. This loan service is a better option than payday lenders or rental companies who charge high rates of interest that will put further pressure on a tight budget.
To be eligible for a WA NILS loan you must hold either a:
– Current Centrelink Health Care Card with eligible Centrelink payment (refer to Centrelink for details on eligibility)
– Current Pension Concession Card holder (refer to Centrelink or Dept for Veterans Affairs for details on eligibility).
In addition to this you must also:
– Have lived at your current address for three months or more (some exemptions apply)
– Be able to repay the loan and be meeting current financial commitments (paying current bills and debts).
Visit the WA NILS website for more information on how to apply and what kinds of items can be purchased through the program. https://www.wanils.com.au/
